Hey! Just popping in to say Chapter 1 definitely grips me. You drop me into resus so fast I could almost hear the monitors, and Laura's "human blood bank" moment had me instantly rooting for her. The will-reading call is a perfect "wait, what?" hook. Going to read chapter 2 immediately :)

Emma, I am so glad you joined Suspense Club. This is a great opening chapter, we could do some minor changes, but overall it is very solid. You have a great story, and I cant wait to see how far you will go.

Chapter 2 totally shifts gears from the chaos of the ER to this eerie, intriguing mystery. I love how you capture Laura’s exhaustion giving way to curiosity.. that mix of disbelief and “what on earth is happening” feels great. The pacing toward the Will reading builds great tension. Thirty million pounds and a creepy old mansion... I’m hooked! :)
